Özet
ÖZET: Bu çalışmada amaç, Türk spor medyasında çalışan kadın gazetecilerin mesleklerini yaparken yaşadıkları zorlukları toplumsal cinsiyete dayalı bir analizle ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan fenomenoloji deseni kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri için, nitel araştırma tekniklerine göre hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak dokuz kadın spor gazetecisi ile görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Elde edilen ses kayıtları araştırmacı tarafından içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak yazılı hale getirilmiştir. Görüşmelerden elde edilen verilere göre, spor medyasının erkek egemenliğinde olan bir sektör olması ve sektörde kadınlara ait görev pozisyonlarının pek fazla bulunmaması sebebiyle kadın spor gazetecileri mesleğe başlama döneminde bir takım zorluklar yaşamakta ve kendilerini kanıtlamak için erkeklere oranla çok daha fazla mücadele etmek zorunda kalmaktadırlar. Kadın gazeteciler bu sektörde konum, prestij ve kazanç açısından daha dezavantajlı olmakta ve özellikle de ‘genç ve bekar’ olduklarında cinsel tacize maruz kalabildiğinden kendilerini sürekli korumak zorunda kalmaktadırlar.
ABSTRACT: In this study, it is aimed to reveal the difficulties experienced by women journalists working in Turkish sports media while they doing their jobs with a gender based analysis. In the study, the phenomenology description, one of the qualitative research designs, was used. For the data of the study, interviews were conducted by the researcher with nine female sports journalists by utilizing a semi-structured interview form which was prepared according to qualitative research techniques. The soundrecorded interviews obtained were transcribed by the researchers using the content analysis method. According to the data from the interviews, female sports journalists meet with some difficulties during the beginning of their profession and they have to struggle more than men to prove themselves because of the fact that the sports media is a male-dominated sector and the positions of women in this sector are not very high. In addition, Women journalists are more disadvantaged in terms of position, prestige and earnings in this sector and they have to protect themselves constantly, as they can be subjected to sexual harassment, especially when they are ‘young and single’.
